Brett and Elmo

Welcome Bailey Lynn

Christmas 2009

New Team Harman!

After much debate, we decided not to add the new baby to Brett's blog, or give her her own, but to start a new 'family' blog. Brett's posts and pictures are still up under his name (www.brettgreyson.blogspot.com) but anything new and updated will be here.
There is much to discuss! First, holidays were wonderful (after a 2 week debacle of plumbing drama in our house...) The entire Wood family made the trip to Chicago for Christmas and stayed with us since I was unable to travel. Brett had a blast this year opening presents and playing with his cousins. Top items seem to be Handy Manny toolbox, Tickle me Elmo, basketball hoop and thanks to Auntie Kylie and Uncle Phil his new Thomas the Train tent and tunnel....oh did I mention that came with 150 balls?? We have about 10 months to come up with something before Aubrey's next birthday to make up for the very generous and entertaining present:)
Rob neglected to make us New Year's Eve plans so little Miss Bailey decided she would make her debut. Driving downtown Chicago on NYE at 8pm was interesting, considering we seemed to be the only ones trying to get to the hospital and not some party! Delivery was pretty uneventful and thankfully easy. Unfortunately Bailey was not born until 3:07am on 1/1/2010 so not only did we miss the end of the year for a tax break, but she was too late to be the first baby of the year...but her daddy was pleased that during the entire stay in the delivery room we were blessed to be watching a Rocky marathon. I believe we went through 1-5. Rob was content.
Rob and I have been very lucky to have some live-in family help between my mom and sister-in-law so far. This week will be the first on our own so it will be interesting to see by Wednesday how we are all surviving. Pretty sure we have at least 3 pizza delivery numbers on speed dial.
Bailey is a good baby and Brett has been a wonderful big brother to date. Brett loves giving Bailey kisses and lets us know if Bailey is upset or crying. We are still working on being ‘gentle’ and learning how to give Bailey love without sitting on her. Nights and days are still a little mixed up, but our little girl is beginning to sleep in longer stretches, giving her parents a much needed break. We feel very blessed and are constantly reminding each other 'oh my gosh, we have TWO babies now!!' I'm sure it will sink in one of these days.

Wow, has it really been almost 2 years since I’ve updated the Harman blog?! Rob has been not so subtly dropping hints that I have neglected ...
